We all love a short week – but we’ve still managed to cram in just as much into the last 4 days!
Year 2 had an amazing time on their fundamental movement PE trip this week, and completed in a huge range of games and activities. They tried their hardest, completed every challenge put before them, and were a credit to the academy all morning!
Our Base 1 and 2 children had an exciting nature walk into Foxrush this week, and all the staff were very impressed by how well the children managed one of their first out-of-academy experiences! The children behaved well, and loved being out in the woodland!
Year 4 have been experiencing virtual reality this week, and have been dazzled by an immersive mining experience, provided by our friends at the Woodsmith Foundation. Once the confusion of wearing a full VR headset passes, the journey through one of the companies’ underground systems is incredible!
Next week, we have Year 6 tests. We would like to commend all the children for getting to this point, and we are sure they will be amazing! A huge thank you also to all parents and carers who have supported the children prepare for this important milestone!
Have a great weekend – Year 6 you will be superstars!
Let’s see what our Nursery group have been up to.
In Nursery we have been enjoying the story Dear Zoo by Rod Campbell, we have learnt lots about different animals and discussed who would make suitable pets for the home.
The children then worked together in the construction area to design and build different enclosures for the wild animals whilst also enjoying the sunshine ☀️
Learning about the world is our most favourite thing to do in Nursery!
Each week we have an ‘Awesome Attendance’ competition for the class or classes with the highest attendance. The class with the highest attendance will receive a letter and the first class to spell out ‘Awesome’ receives a treat for the whole class.
Which class will be the first to receive that treat?
This weeks winners are………
67.5 days of missed learning occurred this week due to unauthorised absences. Unauthorised absences are for holidays, parents/carers not contacting the academy or any other unexplained absence. With most minor ailments, children can be in school, so we really encourage you to think about keeping your child at home.
This week we had 221 children who achieved 100% Attendance for this week, which is Brilliant!
A huge WELL DONE to you all.
Can you get 100% next week?
We strive to accommodate parents/carers with appointment times within the academy. Unfortunately we have noticed that many appointments have been missed, occasionally this may be due to unforeseen circumstances. If you have to cancel and/or re-arrange your appointment, please ensure you contact the academy as soon as possible. Failing to turn up for an appointment and not contacting the academy to cancel it has an adverse effect on other parents/carers appointment times. This can also take valuable staff time that could have been utilised by other parents.
Next week’s choices will be Week 3.
A reminder to all parents we are a Nut Free Academy, please read below.
We’re nearly halfway through Meaningful May, what actions will you be take this weekend?
You can get your children’s uniform here.
