Well done to Y2 and Y6 this week who undertook their assessments in the academy. In Monday’s assembly, we looked at one of the British Values – Mutual Respect and Tolerance. On Wednesday, Mr Long looked at Gratitude, as part of our Character Education work.
Next week in the academy we are having a sports week where each year group will have half a day undertaking a range of sporting tasks. The timetable is as follows:
Monday 28th June am – Nursery
Monday 28th June pm – B2H + B3A
Tuesday 29th June am – Year 1
Tuesday 29th June pm – Year 4
Wednesday 30th June am – Year 5
Wednesday 30th June pm – Year 3
Thursday 1st July – am – Reception + B1R
Thursday 1st July pm – Year 6
Friday 2nd July am – Year 2
Please ensure that the children have their PE kits with them on the correct day.
We have noticed a dip in attendance over recent weeks and, following the year we have had, it is vitally important that the children attend school every day through this summer term. We also have important work coming up to support your child’s transition to their new class, so it is important that children are here to meet their new teacher and take part in our transition project on “The Olympics”.
Please find attached this fortnight’s HeadStart Newsletter, filled with lots of training opportunities to share.

Due to the Covid19 pandemic there have been many pressures placed on individuals, children and families. This has led to differences in when and what people drink at home.
The purpose of this survey is to find out about how the COVID-19 pandemic and related issues such as lockdown, altered working patterns or furlough have affected the amount of alcohol you consume.
The results of this survey will be sent to Professor Dorothy Newbury-Birch and Dr Andrew Divers at the School of Social Sciences, Humanities and Law at Teesside University.
No one will be identified when writing up the results and you do not need to give any identifiable information however if you wish to be included in a draw for one of five £10.00 gift vouchers, please leave your email at the end of the survey.
The survey takes less than two minutes to complete. If you have a spare couple of minutes, please can you complete the survey to support our colleagues at Teesside University and improve life chances in the future.
