We’ve had a fantastic week this week celebrating Red Nose Day in school – with the children coming to assembly with a range of hilarious jokes to amuse the entire hall!
We are very proud of the support our community gives to charity, and would like to thank every family for making the day such a success.
Elsewhere we have had a foody week, with the Y3 parental engagement session – where children created a range of delicious salads and experimented with dressings, as well as Y4 making beautiful pizzas showing off their knowledge of dough, yeast and flavour combinations.
As this weekend is also Mother’s Day, we have also focused on care this week through our PSHE and assemblies. The children have been incredibly considerate, and thought hard about how can treat our family on Sunday. We hope that you all have a wonderful, relaxing weekend and we look forward to seeing you all next week.
This week Classes 3L and 4H show us what they have been doing.
This week year 3 have enjoyed finishing off their science topic on Forces and Magnets.
They have explored how different types of surfaces such as sandpaper, carpet and wood all create different friction and they made predictions on which surface they thought would create the most friction. We have also been exploring magnets and have learnt about which objects are magnetic and which are not.
Cooking up a storm in Year 4!
Over last two weeks, Year 4 have been learning all about the process of making a healthy pizza from understanding the science of yeast to kneading the dough, chopping the ingredients and choosing their own toppings.
The children were able to share their delicious creations with parents and carers at home.
Each week we have an ‘Awesome Attendance’ competition for the class or classes with the highest attendance. The class with the highest attendance will receive a letter and the first class to spell out ‘Awesome’ receives a treat for the whole class.
Which class will be the first to receive that treat?
This weeks winners are……..B3G with 100% congratulations!!!
48.5 days of missed learning occurred this week due to unauthorised absences. Unauthorised absences are for holidays, parents/carers not contacting the academy or any other unexplained absence. With most minor ailments, children can be in school, so we really encourage you to think about keeping your child at home.
This week we had 202 children who achieved 100% Attendance for this week. A huge WELL DONE to you all 😊
Can you get 100% next week?
Next weeks menu will be Week 3
