Happy 2024!
We are delighted to be back, and hope all our families had a wonderful, relaxing break.
It has been lovely to welcome children back into the academy, and to hear what they have been getting up to over their holidays.
We are delighted with how well children have returned to learning, and have already seen some fantastic work in all our classrooms.
Staff are pleased to report that behaviour and attitudes have been exemplary, and children’s manners have been superb in the lunch hall and around the academy.
Football club returned this week, and with many more announcements in the upcoming weeks please continue to keep up to date through our social media and school comms so you are informed of the latest activities and opportunities available to your children.
We wish you a wonderful 2024 and look forward to inviting you into the academy soon!
Let’s see how Year 3, Year 4 and Class B4 have started the new term.
In PE this term Year 3 are going to problem solving. They are going to have to work in teams to be able to complete the games.
Today they had to try and arrange themselves from tallest to smallest on a bench without falling off. They found it very tricky!
After a discussion of what an effective team has. Every team decided on a leader who helped them get in the correct order on the bench.
In maths, Year 4 have been working hard on place value. We have been able to find 1000 more or less than a given number.
We used the base 10 equipment to support us with our maths learning. It was great to see everybody working together and collaborating to find the answers to some tricky questions.
Year 4 have made a great start to the new Spring term and we are looking forward to learning some exciting things!
It’s been a wonderful start to the term – after focusing on how to make a moving vehicle in DT and the stories about creation in RE – all before Christmas- we are now taking our learning journey towards Geography.
Our focus is Biomes. The children have shared a great knowledge of Biomes and ecosystems. They are now choosing the own Biomes to research.
Each week we have an ‘Awesome Attendance’ competition for the class or classes with the highest attendance. The class with the highest attendance will receive a letter and the first class to spell out ‘Awesome’ receives a treat for the whole class.
Which class will be the first to receive that treat?
This weeks winners are………
14 days of missed learning occurred this week due to unauthorised absences. Unauthorised absences are for holidays, parents/carers not contacting the academy or any other unexplained absence. With most minor ailments, children can be in school, so we really encourage you to think about keeping your child at home.
This week we had 233 children who achieved 100% Attendance for this week. A huge WELL DONE to you all.
Can you get 100% next week?
We strive to accommodate parents/carers with appointment times within the academy. Unfortunately we have noticed that many appointments have been missed, occasionally this may be due to unforeseen circumstances. If you have to cancel and/or re-arrange your appointment, please ensure you contact the academy as soon as possible. Failing to turn up for an appointment and not contacting the academy to cancel it has an adverse effect on other parents/carers appointment times. This can also take valuable staff time that could have been utilised by other parents.
New term, new menu. We’ll be starting from Week 1 next week
