On Friday 18th October, 2S and 1T are going on an educational visit to North York Moors National Park Centre as part of our topic work this half term.
This activity day links to the Geographical Skills and Fieldwork we are looking at over the course of the term and is inspired by Nick Butterworth’s book ‘The Treasure Hunt’. The day will consist of two activities with a lunch break in between.
We will leave the Academy at 9.00 am on a coach and arrive back in time for the children to be collected as normal for the end of the day. As we will be outdoors for most of the day, we are asking children to wear suitable trousers and footwear such as jogging bottom and trainers and we ask that they wear their school jumper as normal. The children will require a coat that will keep them warm and dry if the weather is not great while we are there. The children will be provided with a packed lunch from school if they normally receive a school dinner. If you wish to send your child with their own packed lunch, please ensure they have a range of healthy options and no fizzy drinks or cans.
While the Academy are subsidising part of our visit, we are asking parents for a voluntary contribution of £3.00 towards the visit.
