We have got fully into our Christmas activities this week and have been so pleased with the support given to all the children.
On Monday, choir sang at the Trust Carol Service at St Nicholas’ Church, Guisborough, and we were very proud of the part they played with retelling the Christmas story.
EYFS performed their Nativity to packed audiences on Thursday and Friday, and the confidence of many of the children in their first Christmas performances to a live audience was amazing. There were lots of emotional moments for parents and carers.
We were absolutely blown away by the support we received on Wednesday at our first Reindeer Run! A wonderful time was had by all, and the children loved chasing the Santa’s! Thank you to everyone who was patient waiting in the queue for refreshments, and what a lovely atmosphere we had in the hall prior to the main event where choir entertained us.
B3G and B1R also had their parental engagement afternoons and 4H were lucky enough to have Seymour Engineering in school who brought in a digger simulator as part of a career project they are undertaking. The children were all able to have a go and they have also designed safety posters that are going to be displayed at the building site on the seafront where a new crazy golf course and playground are being built. Our children will be having the opportunity to visit to the site in the new year!
See below for another final week of term with lots more activities coming up!
This week, our featured classes are Nursery, Reception and B1R so please enjoy reading what they have been learning about.
Nursery had a wonderful time at their Bear Hunt themed stay and play. We took the parents on an exciting adventure and finished it all off with a performance from the children!
RB have been extremely busy rehearsing their beautiful lines for our Christmas Nativity and we can’t wait for you all to watch it!
At the beginning of this term, B1R were learning about how fire fighters help to keep us safe in our community. We were very lucky to have a visit from the fire fighters from our local fire station. They showed us some of the equipment they use and we got to see one of their amazing fire engines! It was a very exciting afternoon.
Every week we celebrate the children who demonstrate the core values of the academy and now we would like to invite the parents of the winners in to witness their children being celebrated.
We will send a message via our school gateway app on Thursdays inviting the parents of those children in with the times for the assembly.
Remember to keep this secret, we want to surprise the children who win.
Each week we have an ‘Awesome Attendance’ competition for the class or classes with the highest attendance. The class with the highest attendance will receive a letter and the first class to spell out ‘Awesome’ receives a treat for the whole class.
Which class will be the first to receive that treat?
28 days of missed learning occurred this week due to unauthorised absences. Unauthorised absences are for holidays, parents/carers not contacting the academy or any other unexplained absence. With most minor ailments, children can be in school, so we really encourage you to think about keeping your child at home.
As you will be aware we are using an app service called School Gateway to communicate with parents. You can now report your child’s absence through the app. If we have not heard from you, we will be sending out attendance messages which you can reply to, which will come directly to the team.
We need your help in designing a new warm up t-shirt that sends out a simple message that ‘Football is for Everyone’.
We want to see your creative side and design a warm up t-shirt for the players during our River-Side-By-Side game against QPR during Pride History Month (February).
The chosen winner will not only win tickets to the game but all see their t-shirt come to life and professionally made so that the players themselves can wear these during warm up.
The competition will close Sunday 18th December
Please send your entries to Amy.Campbell@mfcfoundation.co.uk
Next weeks Menu will be week 1. Don’t forget it’s Christmas lunch on Tuesday
