Hello to all our children, parents and carers,
Our academy challenge this week was to take a photograph of what you see when you are out and about. What gorgeous photos we have received, including amazing landscapes, lots of wildlife and outdoor life as well as some great activities. Thank you to those who have sent them in for us all to enjoy.
Thank you to everyone who has engaged with the home learning this week; we hope you found the home learning packs useful and have made use of the paper/pencils. If you have requested a pack for future weeks, please collect after lunchtime on Tuesdays.
Just to let you know that the final day this term for all children (including key workers) will be Wednesday 15th July to allow for deep cleaning and preparation for the autumn term.
Year 6 children
|We sadly say goodbye today to our Year 6 children. We are really going to really miss this year group and hope they have lots of happy memories from their time in the academy. They will share these through their virtual leavers’ assembly today. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this and to the Year 6 children in school and Miss Norton and Mrs Cairns for putting this together. |
Wishing you all lots of happiness and success in the future.
For those children who have booked a place in the academy, we look forward to welcoming you back on Tuesday 30th June. If you can arrive on the Plaza between 8.45 and 9am to go into the academy through the Nursery entrance. The children do not need to bring a PE kit as the children are not getting changed for P.E. at the current time.
Seven Stories is the National Centre for Children’s Books in Newcastle. They had an exhibition that was due to open before lockdown – Where Stories Come From. This explores the idea that every story fits into one of seven basic story plots. There are examples of a range of books that fit in each type of plot and some fun videos to watch/activities to do
There are some links to good texts on diversity and some digital events for families, linked to current events, and available at a small cost.
A book to share to promote diversity…
Please follow the link to a resource book we have been sent to school called My Body Your Body Skin. The book is a lovely illustrated book which we think would be useful to read together. We hope you enjoy it.
