Within Redcar and Cleveland, National Tree Week (23rd Nov – 1st Dec) was celebrated this year with a native tree planting campaign.  Trees are of vital importance to our planet: they absorb carbon dioxide as they grow and the carbon that they store in their wood helps slow the rate of global warming. Educating children on the importance of trees will have a massive impact on our planet’s future generations.

We were given a small whip tree from the Countryside and Volunteer Team.

Members of our Junior Leadership Team planted the tree near the raised beds in the academy, and we look forward to seeing it grow over the coming years.
