Our French Club included children from Year 1 to Year 6, and they had great fun engaging in a range of French speaking tasks.
Counting one to ten forwards and backwards.
Recognising the numbers.
Following instructions – Jacque a dit song (Simon says)
Greetings – Hello, Goodbye and answering the register
Songs – Frère Jacques and Allouette (with body actions)
Listening to French music
Sharing stories – Toutes les couleurs (colours)
Le Petit Princess
Je m’habille et… je te croque!
The children were really enthusiastic, especially those from our youngest classes, who told their classmates about the instructions and French words they had learnt. They continue to speak the French words to Mademoiselle Lawes and MademoiselleTiplady (who ran the club) whenever they see them.
Parents have also reported that the children have taught their families at home what they have learnt!
We will be running the French Club again this half term and next year after this great success!
Très Bien! Excellent!
