Welcome to the weekly Dormanstown update of news, events and what is coming up in the next week in school.

Next PD Day: Friday 3rd April 2020

Attendance – positive news for attendance again as this week we achieved 96.8%.  Our yearly attendance is gradually creeping back up again too.  Thank you for your support and keep this up.

Please can we ask that your ring the academy as soon as possible on the morning if your child does need to be absent from school.

Uniform – Can we remind everyone that children should be wearing plain black, grey or white socks for school (not patterned or other colours) and that proper school shoes must be worn (not trainers).  Also, earrings should be a small, plain stud, and they should be removed on P.E. days.

As the weather is variable at the moment, please can all children bring a suitable coat each day and hats/scarves/gloves if we have a particular cold spell to keep them warm during playtimes and other outdoor activities.

Car parking – As many of you know, we do not have access to the car park to the side of the academy any more. We are aware that this has significantly increased the traffic on South Avenue during school drop off and pick up times.  We would request that if walking to school is an option then this would help to alleviate the cars brought to school.  If you do need to bring a vehicle, please park safely and responsibly without blocking the drives of any of our neighbours or stopping in a place that could be a hazard for pedestrians. Thank you for your co-operation in this matter.
