Welcome to the weekly Dormanstown update of news, events and what is coming up in the next week in school.

Next PD Day: Friday 3rd April 2020

Click here for the calendar for all events in the academy.  This calendar has information attached to the event title, where applicable, for example details of the trip, costs, etc.

Attendance – our attendance took a dip before Christmas, so we want to work together to improve this. Please can you ensure that children have good attendance at school.  Remember that our academy target is 96%. Well done to all the 95 children who received 100% attendance certificates for the autumn term.

Please can we ask that you ring the academy as soon as possible on the morning if your child does need to be absent from school. A voicemail can be left before 8am on a morning.

Uniform – Can we remind everyone that children should be wearing plain black, grey or white socks for school (not patterned or other colours) and that proper school shoes must be worn (not trainers).  Also, earrings should be a small, plain stud, and they should be removed on P.E. days.

As the weather is variable at the moment, please can all children bring a suitable coat each day and hats/scarves/gloves if we have a particular cold spell to keep them warm during playtimes and other outdoor activities.

Car parking – could parents/carers parking near school to collect their children please be mindful of parking in a responsible fashion, and not to block driveways. We are aware that the car park next to Price Road has been locked and are making enquiries as to availability.
