Charging and Remissions Policy

Children in Dormanstown Primary Academy enjoy a wide range of activities which are planned to enrich the curriculum.

A voluntary contribution may be requested towards the costs involved in providing enrichment activities for children, both within school and outside of school. If contributions are not forthcoming then activities may not occur. Where funds permit, an allocation is made within the school budget or Private Fund to subsidise all or part of the costs of some activities and/or individual pupils.

Educational visits and visitors to the school may be subsidised in whole or part from the Private Fund and/or the School Budget. Private Fund monies are raised by parents and staff through social events, sponsored events, photograph sales, raffles and cake sales etc in school. Funds raised are for books, curriculum resources, ICT and for Christmas celebrations, etc in addition to educational activities. New books are also acquired as commission from School Book Fairs and Book Club purchases.
